Hello band blog readers. It's me, your mate Rob...

This past month has been totally crazy, lots of cool things have happened and I am going to tell you all about them.

Let's start with the really important stuff: We released our new single, Swimming. As you know we love writing music that has upbeat #vibez4dayz so we wanted this song to hit the ground as soon as the sun came out. If you listen to the words, it's actually kind of sad but there is plenty in there to dance around your bedroom to (like I do). Everyone's favourite Huw (Stephens) gave her a spin on his Radio One show, which is ace, and you lot seem to like the video, so we think the whole thing worked out quite well.

The week we set Swimming free into the world we went on tour wit...

This past month has been a particularly busy one for us M'cans. We've traversed this island we call home playing live shows, radio shows and stripped-back Sofar Sounds shows

On the news front, I'm going to start this blog off with the month's saddest story which had the nation weeping. Anyone keeping an eye on our various social media pages will have noticed the untimely death of our noble steed, Vanessa. To those of you who knew Vanessa, you'll be glad to know she went out as she lived (struggling to reach 40mph). This all happened on Good Friday, so you know obviously we were all kind of waiting for a Jesus-esque awakening at some point...watch this space.

A double blow for us was the fact that, because of this, we were unable to make it t...

So, we’re into the month of March already. That's quarter way through 2016. If I were to buy a chocolate bar and split into four even pieces, I would eat all four and not give any to the other boys. Let me tell you what we’ve been up to…

February has been a fun month of writing, planning, gigging, interviews and a light bit of manual labour. Amidst this whirlwind of activity, however, there has been a clear highlight in the form of a show we played at the Tooting Tram and Social for John Kennedy (Radio X). It was the third time we’ve played the venue but the first time we had met John and thank him for his support over the past year on his show. He’s a great guy. We had a good laugh with him backstage and talked about some exciting things fo...

February! New music!

They say February is the month of love, or at least a day in February is... bloody couples... but we have our first release of the year Arms Of Another and we hope you love it and cuddle it, stroke its hair, tell it it's pretty, take it for long walks on the bea..... WATCH HERE

The opposite of love is hate. And we hate not playing live for you chipmunks, so much so I asked Santa (real) for a practice pad to stop me going loopy! But the time has come and we’ve started our next leg of tour dates! Selling out Leeds gigs twice in a week with the 360 club and Leeds Student Radio, along with starting our School Night residency DJ set at Oporto Bar, crazy fun was had (warning: jägerjelly...

Good morning/afternoon/evening, humans.

The year is 2016 and I could not be more excited about what these next 12 months have in store. Amongst the band I am known for being ‘charmingly verbose’, for over-wording, or taking the long way round in order to get to the point. This time I’m going to get straight to it…

We’re gonna be releasing some new music this year, lots of new music. Music that we spent the most part of 2015 writing, road testing, re-writing and recording. We’re very proud of the song and were over the moon when the PRS for Music Foundation announced they would be pressing our songs onto 12 inch vinyl in the coming months.

Last year, we were lucky enough to find truly wonderful friends in the form of DRK Creative, a team...

December is a great time to reflect on the year, whether you've become the world's greatest Connect 4 player, successfully remembered all the words to JB's new album, or something else as equally skilful. Of course there are two types of people at this time of year: those who lose theirselves amongst all the festivities, selection boxes and wishful dreams of a white Christmas; and those who couldn't care less. I'm in the former of those two categories.

2015 has been one big old tasty slice o'pie for us. We've genuinely had the best time ever. I'm going to take a moment amongst my boring ramblings to just say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has crossed paths with us in any way this year. If you came to a gig, housed us, drove us,...

November: a month that will see me reach an age with such distinct qualities that it provided Taylor Swift with enough substance to write the 2012 hit single, ‘22’. Who knows if I will be ‘happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time’, or if the year will be both ‘miserable and magical’, all I know is that if it’s good enough for T-Swizzy, it’s good enough for ya boy O-Jammy. Anyway, less about the unpredictable future and more about the definable past; more specifically, the events of the last month or so...

October began with our return to Oporto to man the decks once more as we warmed up for Circa Waves following their O2 Academy show. It was a wild evening that saw us take the call lane drinkers on a journey from Indie Rock to R Kelly...

January is famously quite a dull month. No one has any money. It's cold, dark and pretty miserable outside. Yes, the weather suits you, as you get to hide your Christmas weight under that big coat you only get out once a year, but it’s still not great - unless you’re in Marsicans.

This month we’ve been very busy getting things ready for the launch of our new single, Gone In A Second. We sat down together to marvel at the artwork, created by our exceptionally talented friend, Olivia Hodder. We decided on a date for the release and in which formats the single will be available to have and to hold, and finally, we shot a video…

On the 22nd of January we arrived at Vox Warehouse at 7:45am, accompanied by a group of men with cameras and box of Yor...

Amigos!

How’s that weird rash? Better? Glad to hear. While you were down at the clinic, we've been busy arranging our own Marsiparty in our neck of the woods! That’s right, Thursday November 20th we’re hosting a sweet gig with The Parades and The Stray down at a Wharf Chambers in Leeds city centre.  We’re going to make something grand out of it so you should definitely be there and not at home refreshing twitter during X Factor. Tickets available from Crash and Jumbo Records, online here, or from the band -ask nicely and you might get a discount!

We love making quirky, weird, wonderful videos for you, and recently took it to the kitchen… no not to cook, but rather to stew up a special ‘hands on’ lyric video. Keep your eyes peeled.
