November: a month that will see me reach an age with such distinct qualities that it provided Taylor Swift with enough substance to write the 2012 hit single, ‘22’. Who knows if I will be ‘happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time’, or if the year will be both ‘miserable and magical’, all I know is that if it’s good enough for T-Swizzy, it’s good enough for ya boy O-Jammy. Anyway, less about the unpredictable future and more about the definable past; more specifically, the events of the last month or so...
October began with our return to Oporto to man the decks once more as we warmed up for Circa Waves following their O2 Academy show. It was a wild evening that saw us take the call lane drinkers on a journey from Indie Rock to R Kelly’s Ignition and back again (sorry Oporto). The very next evening we joined our good friends VITAMIN for the first night of their monthly residency at Brudenell Social Club, the show was sold out and we had an absolute blast on and off stage. The last night of their Brothers and Sisters residency is on the 8th December so don’t miss out on the good vibes. VITAMIN have also just released their new EP ‘To Believe’ and its polished pop perfection, download it here.
We played other great shows in October including Manchester’s Carefully Planned Festival at the Soup Kitchen and our north-east home away from home, Mixtape in Middlesbrough. Then, on the 1st November we loaded up the van and headed south for a four-date tour calling at Brighton, Worthing, London and Basingstoke. This tour has been a highlight of our band career to date, we met so many great people along the way and we are so excited to get back out again next year! We also owe a massive thanks to the many folks who fed us, housed us or hugged us and especially to our manager, Sham, for putting up with our relentlessly tiresome humour that would make any other grown man cry or even drive us out to a field in Kent and leave us there. We put a short tour video diary together which features mostly clips of us being moronic, you can watch it here.
Amidst all of the above, we’ve been hard at work preparing new music and videos for 2016, but you don’t wanna hear about all that boring stuff, do you?
In other news: Rob bought a winter coat for a price that David Dickinson would be envious of, Cale planted a conifer that later fell over, James used a bread knife to cut both the bread and his hand and I have begun teaching myself Chinese.
Love from ya boy,
