…and so the bumble bee licked the cat, flew into a tree, stole the marshmallow and fled the scene. Was mental… Oh sorry! Hi there, person reading this blog, that was just…um…I was just telling a…thing. Never mind.

This blog goes back a bit to when James and Rob went to that little bash known as Glastonbury. I wasn’t jealous. Nah, I wasn’t. Why do you think I’m jealous? I’m not. Stop shaking your head at me. I don’t care. Don’t wanna talk about it now, not ‘cause I’m jealous, just you upset me. They said it was great. I suppose it would have been better if I was there… They both then went to the Maccabees’ final tour dates, which is a rubbish thought that it was their final gigs. Hopefully they all hit their heads and want to reform next year.

I always struggle when starting these blogs, there's so many ways in which to begin. Today was no different. The word 'blog' itself being today's barrier to me being able to produce anything worthy of reading. After spending a few minutes saying the word 'blog' to myself in bewilderment, Google told me it means 'weblog' and some joker shortened it to blog. Blog. It doesn't sound like a word anymore does it? Anyway...

July was lots of fun for us four Marsicans. We took a trip to Sheffield to play a Friday night Tramlines extravaganza alongside some great bands such as The Hubbards, Habitats and Flyte. Sheffield was absolutely buzzing that day and to top it off we all tried our first ever Taco Bell (Cale had a nightmare with his cheesy sauce and w...

Ahhh August!

Wikipedia puts August between the months of July and September and I've got to say, on this one I can't argue! It's usually a month full of sun, fun and other things ending in -un. This is the point where we'd usually tell you a little anecdotal ditty for your reading pleasure, however, I'm going to get straight to the point.

This past month we've been visiting a place known as 'writing-new-songs-ville' and it's been very accommodating. After consuming around 840 cups of Yorkshire tea and 15 packets of various biscuits (usually what the nearest corner shop has on offer), we've ended up with a plethora of songs which we're VERY excited about. It just so happens that we're heading into the studio shortly to convert these songs that a...

MAIS OUI, MONSIEUR! A kind feature from our Gallic cousins across the Channel at Dealer de Sons.

The magic works remarkably well live. The guys know each other inside out and you can feel it watching them play. The songs are crafted from start to finish and, although there isn't much room to move this evening, it seems obvious to everyone in attendance that this four-piece deserves to play larger venues...

Afternoon to whoever reads this,

For the eagle-eyed readers of this life-changing blog, you may have noticed that we didn’t reflect on our activities for the month of July during the month itself. This however was not done through negligence or laziness, but rather because of a very fun time for us. If you haven’t suffered the bombardment of #studiotasty on our social media pages, then you won’t be in the know about our recent recording sessions. Don’t worry, I’ll catch you up now.

In the last couple of weeks we’ve been down in the studio with a certain Mr Mickey Dale (very nice guy/ham-salad-on-brown-bread advocate) recording new tracks. These (I feel) represent a development in sound for us as a band; Marsicans 2.0 if you will. These are curr...
